Wrapping Up And My 6 Favorite Artists During 2018

Image
It's been a long year, a lot of hard work and still lot to do. Overall, it's been a great, I have polished my musical style much more, leveling technique with reach, what I mean is that sometimes you have to be proficient in technique in order to have full control of your sound and concept. But I'm not talking about technique in the sense of DAW, sound design, mixing, etc. but  Pure Technique  and pure technique is Wisdom in the most Oriental way, the Buddha way, the Tao Way, the  Big Brother  way as Quavo from Migos would put it. You have lived a lot, you have seen the worst, you have seen the best, this is pure technique. The year has come to an end and I must at least give you something of cultural value. What Artists have been worthy during my 2018? I don't listen to albums that much, I'm not an album-philiac, Albums are just a byproduct of silly Music Journalism, Albums are made for Clout Chasing Journalists for them to write silly, uninformed and arbi

The Meaning of "Hyper": What do I think of Deconstructed Club? Deconstructed Club inspired 1898?

Arca preparing for a bullfight "I think my sounds are more sample-oriented. Even the synths that I like a lot are more sample-based. It's almost like with digital graphics: it's raster vs. vector. I'm more raster when it comes to sound."-M.E.S.H. Deconstructed Club, we all know what this is right? Some people hate it, Kode 9 bashed it by calling it self-indulgent in the dancefloor, everybody hates it basically. I personally don't hate it. How can I hate Deconstructed Club when Alt-Jpop and DJ Melania 666 have some vestiges of Deconstructed Club. I don't know where the name comes from, at first I found the term Deconstructed Club pretty retarded (I still find it quite retarded) but at the end of the day I simply don't take the term literally. Deconstructed Club is very vast scene, from Staycore to NAAFI to PAN and recently Posh Isolation and Kai Whiston. How did all this started? Kode9 influenced dancefloor Some people say it started wit

What makes a beat a good beat for 1898music? Do you meet our standards?

Some people actually send me beatz every now and then, and they ask me to give my opinion. Ironically these people seem to have a bigger fanbase than us! Other people simply evade showing us their music when after listening to DJ Melania 666 or Alt-Jpop. People are afraid, of the DJ Tony, Teresa or DJ Melania opinion, it is as if we are going to annihilate their self-esteem. Of course, we bash everything every now and then but that's part of the joke, deep down we are good people. So, what makes a a good beat according to us? To this I must say, the most important thing about a beat, it's actually... you... Deep down, we are conscious that critique is arbitrary and that Music Journalism should be strictly controlled by the State! Jk. You guys get the point, what makes an opinion valid? You just need the clout. Clout is not having 1million followers, write reviews for Pitchfork, having a polyamorous relationship, etc. Clout is more complex. You could be a nobody and destro

The Future of Alt-Jpop: Never Get a Real Job and "how much do I charge for a beat"

"The Music Speaks for Itself"-DJ Melania 666 Music has a lot value  regardless of what people who have real jobs say. Who the fuck needs a Mechanical Engineer? Who needs a Teacher? As a matter of fact, most people hate their teachers. People love Young Thug, Murda Beatz, Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, Dua Lipa and Beethoven. Without Music, where would we be? If your parents got married, there is a high probability somebody played the Piano in the Wedding Ceremony. If there is no music, there is no love. Implying to get a real job is to not believe in love, to not believe in any kind of love, and a world without love is a world without justice. In the times of 5 dollar beat leasing, the life of a musician is becoming increasingly tough but at the same time I see this as a blessing. I've been trying to get artists involved for 1898 and Alt-Jpop but it hasn't been very successful. Singers either ignore you, language barrier impedes communication or simply find it too diffi
